The Beautiful Country
If the trailer is anything to go by, this film is really not being done any justice by its synopsis.
The Beautiful Country follows the story of Binh, a shy Vietnamese man in his 20s who embarks on a personal journey with a young beautiful woman, Ling, aboard a refugee ship to America in search of a better life and Binh’s estranged American father.
The trailer reveals - or strongly suggests - that Binh’s father was a Vietnam veteran and that Binh is going to face quite an ordeal over the course of the film.
The synopsis also fails to mention that the film stars both Nick Nolte and Tim Roth and looks absolutely gorgeous.
