Romance Road Killers
Alter Ego Cinema have added a featurette to the trailer and montage for their upcoming feature, Romance Road Killers.
“Romance Road Killers” is inspired, partially, by a real-life teenage couple (Caril Ann Fugate, 14 years old, and Charles Raymond Starkweather, 19 years old) that murdered 11 people and created the term “spree killers” back in 1958. This movie follows Jacob, 19, and Isabelle, 14, (set in 1999) on a killing spree across the roads of California. Although the basis for the film is inspired by the Starkweather Murders, the motives of the killings are very different.
Co-writers/directors Emily Wryn and Shane Ryan have based the couple’s background on events involving their own lives, including foster care, child protection agencies, abuse/molestation in the family and in the foster homes, and whether or not the system designed to protect children actually works.
