“They say your friends can hold you back. They’re dead right.”
Thomas Doyle (Ciarán O’Brien) is an average, but good, student. But Doyle has landed himself in detention for the first time. He is now at the mercy of the detention supervisor, McAlester (Jarlath Conroy), who loves to taunt his new recruits and make sure they know who’s boss. He is the product of a harsh upbringing and doesn’t see why kids these days should have it any different.
But today, on Doyle’s first ever detention, McAlester is the least of the detainees’ problems.
Today, on Doyle’s first ever detention, the living dead attack.
Doyle, accompanied by his best mate and fellow detainee, Mark (Ben Morris), must escape from a school overrun with zombies. But Mark is badly wounded from the attack and anyone who knows anything about zombies will tell you that there is only one outcome in such a situation - Mark, sooner or later, will become one of them. Doyle must make it out through the school, encountering zombies, the skeptical and bitter caretaker, his own self-image and eventually his best friend. For Doyle, detention really is far worse than he’d been told.
Detained was ‘Highly Commended’ by the 15th International Festival of Fantastic Films (2004) in Manchester, England.

Pot Zombies is very low budget sleazy gore zombie drug flick that will be coming out soon.
The soundtrack includes music from DOA, Electric Frankenstein, The Dwarves, Damage Case, Dufus, Bottles and Skulls and Diemonsterdie and the film includes cameos from both Lloyd Kaufman and Mothragirl.
The film will be premiering at the Texas Frightmare Weekend (February 4th and 5th, 2006) and, of course, the trailer is online.

Star Wreck: In the Pirkinning is a feature-length sci-fi parody, seven years in the making. It is the product of a core group of five Finns, and over 300 extras, assistants and supporters.
The film combines some spectacular visual effects, a stack of great one-liners, plenty of laugh out loud moments, and a passion that provide the basis for the first-ever Finnish science fiction adventure.
And not only is the trailer available online, so is the full film. So watch the trailer, download the film and then go buy the DVD.

The website for The Special Dead is one of the most minimal I’ve seen in a long time - just a tagline, a synopsis and a trailer.
When a zombie plague infects Camp Special Dude, a dude ranch for the mentally handicapped, a ragtag band of campers and counselors struggles to survive the night. Led by the indifferent, nunchuck-wielding head counselor, Mac, and his wheelchair-bound sister Dale, the unlikely heroes fight their way off the mountain as, one by one, they’re picked off and join the ranks of the walking dead. It’s a campy stampede of blood, boobs and gore as some “very special” people show that they can kick some serious undead ass.
The film is due to be released in 2006.

According to the plot outline on the IMDb:
Lionel is a custodian that longs for more. Bombarded with daily disrespect and insults from his co-workers, Lionel sets on a path of revenge and begins to brutally murder everyone in his path.
From the trailer, The Janitor certainly looks like a lot of twisted fun. And it’s now out on DVD, click here to find out where.

According to Movieseer, the synopsis for Thai horror film, Scared, is:
A big group of freshy students sets a trip out of town. On the journey, their bus has to cross a rotten river bridge which is the only bridge in the center of a dark forest. When the bus is moving on the half of the way, the bridge accidentally broken down and the bus falls deep into the river more than 50 metres from the surface. Almost every single student dies while few survives. The scared students walk out from the forest till they discover an abandoned town that lies in the hill, there’s no people in such town. In the mysterious town, the students cruelly are murdered one by one. No one knows what happens to them or who is the killer, only the survivor could explain it all.
… which really doesn’t do justice to the film, if the trailer is anything to go by. Take a look.

Wolf Creek has already been released in the UK, and much of the rest of Europe, although it doesn’t hit the US until next year.
But if you missed it the first time around, the UK DVD is due to be released on January 16th 2006.
It was supposed to be the vacation of a lifetime in the Australian Outback - full of fun, sun and adventure. But what happened to a trio of twenty-something backpackers took a wrenching detour into the depths of unrelenting terror. Based on true events, “Wolf Creek” is the haunting story of their unthinkable ordeal - a mounting white-knuckle nightmare so real it was destined to become horror legend. “Wolf Creek” is a startlingly intense motion picture experience of rapidly escalating dread and suspense.
Start saving.

I originally linked to this film back in Octobe and noted, at the time, that this Thai horror film seriously ups the gore content of Asian cinema. And now (via Twitch), I have found a synopsis from Fivestar Production:
When the reunion of 6 souls commence, a haunting past binds the ring of friends in an evil world filled with black magic and doom. What horror previously initiated, now beckons up the 6 lives, rendering them without a chanced of redemption. In the midst of horror, lies the Art of the Devil II.
And there’s more:

Ronin Team’s Profile:
A team of 7 directors poised in taking the world of horror films to an unexpected level, brings you into the world of Art of the Devil II. With a wide range of acclaimed Thai cinema titles such as Bang Rajan, Kun Pan, and Art of the Devil, the Ronin team pieces together a new horror story installment from pre-production to the final edit. And with the core team concept for giving it all for the sake of pure entertainment Art of the Devil II will bring you as close as possible to true horror and gore. The “Ronin Statement”
We wanted to reintroduce the world of horror flicks to teens because they present the grey area of righteousness or evil. And during that fragile and innocent time frame of life these characters are introduced to path filled with horror and fore only to be armed with what good they have inherited. Failure of them to survive, would represent the manifestation of pure evil.
The trailer is seriouly painful to watch. You have been warned.
