Make a Killing is a short (40 minute) “comedy of horrors” that explores the question: how do movie serial killers do what they do? How do they eliminate their victims with such ease? How do they make the lights go out for maximum effect, and how do they know exactly where to be, and when?
The answer: companies like Assisted Killing Amalgamated, which provide “full service carnage solutions” for budding psychopaths.
Make A Killing looks set to delight and amuse horror film aficionados. You can watch the trailer here and buy it here.

Malevolence is described as a stylish tribute to the horror and slasher films of the past and is being distributed in the US by Anchor Bay. The film is already getting good reviews in the horror and film press and from the trailer, it does look like director Stevan Mena has come up with a genuinely unnerving film - which is a rarity these days.
When her father, a biblical scholar, mysteriously disappears, a Christian high-school student named Danielle investigates. She discovers that he had stumbled across a cover-up of Christianity’s best-kept secret: That Jesus never existed.
Now that she possesses proof of this dangerous fact, Danielle must conront two strong forces: A band of fundamentalist Christians who will stop at nothing to suppress the truth, and her own desire for Jesus Christ to be real.
Diving into factual territory well-explored by scholars but largely hidden from the view of the public, The Beast is an epic story of innocence lost, faith in crisis, and the astonishing power of the truth to survive.
Granted, the idea that Jesus never existed is hardly well hidden, but it would be interesting to take a look at the way people continue to irrationally believe in things on the basis that they’d like them to be true rather than on the basis of available evidence.
Appropriately enough, The Beast is scheduled to be released on 6th June, 2006. In the meantime you can check out the teaser trailer here.

A preview for Day of the Dead: Contagium is now online. There’s no CGI in place, no soundtrack and no sound effects - so it really is a rough cut.
That said, it looks like the film is going to be both dark and paranoid… which is exactly what you want from a zombie movie.
To watch it, you’ll have to navigate the annoying flash menus to the Trailers page and then select Fantasia Preview

South Park’s Matt Stone and Trey Parker have brought Thunderbirds bang up to date with Team America: World Police.
According to Matt Stone:
We did this movie because we didn’t want to work with actors. We tried to stay true to the Thunderbirds thing and we don’t use any computers in this movie; it’s all painfully real, and all those explosions you see are built on stage.
And it looks fantastic.
On a related note, Sci Fi Wire was reporting a couple of days ago that the White House is very unhappy about this film. Apparantly, an “anonymous senior adviser to President Bush” told the Drudge Report that “I would suggest Paramount give respect to those fighting and sacrificing to keep America safe.”
If this report is true (and I’m not convinced), I can’t help wondering if Bush is starting to worry that his “War on Terror” rhetoric is about to be ridiculed for the moronic fear-mongering it is.
In the meantime, you can decide for yourself by clicking here to watch the trailer.
