Scary Movie 3

I saw Scary Movie when it was released - it was okay, but not okay enough to have me rushing back to see the sequel. But, given that Scary Movie 3 was directed by David Zucker - one third of the trio that gave us Police Squad, Airplane and The Naked Gun - last night seemed a good time to revisit the series.
And, Scary Movie 3 is funny - there were plenty of scenes that had me laughing out loud. It’s also less dependent on the gross-out humour of the first two films which probably means that, if you haven’t seen Ring, Signs or The Matrix you may find yourself missing a lot of the jokes.
There is a plot - but that’s not important right now. The film plays more as a series of sketches, leaping from spoof to spoof, often hysterically.
My one gripe is that I’d liked to have seen more done with Leslie Nielsen’s President of the US. But overall, Scary Movie 3 is a fun way to waste an hour and a half.
