FilmCrowd is a people-powered, movie discovery engine. As a participant, you can either explore the current movie listings and review stuff you find, or you could contribute movies that aren’t there yet and review those. The idea is to allow people to quickly find new and old movies that others have picked up and enjoyed.
The site also includes social-networking functionality to allow people form friend-networks and film related “focus groups.”

How MafiaFlix started out is a great story. We love mafia movies, but we did not find a mafia movie resource online. So we though to our self, hell there should be a gangster movie site which features only crime, mobster, gangster, mafia movies. A site with all the top, best films with DVD’s, posters, quotes and everything else with it. We knew it would be hell of a job but we took it, now we have a site not just about the stuff above, but we also have the history on mobs, and everything that could possibly go into a mafia movie site.
MafiaFlix is certainly well worth a visit if you have even the most passing interest in mafia or crime movies.

New Films from the Old Continent
The site www.europeanfilms.net wants to increase public awareness about European films that are currently in (pre-)production or in release in theatres or on DVD. The site offers news and reviews of such films for the general public, hoping to stimulate interest in the diverse output of the many talented European film-makers working today.
I found this site via Screenplay Europe and it certainly does look like one to watch. There certainly are a lot of very talented European filmmakers out there at the moment and - if you are inteerested in something a bit more original than the homogenised product churned out by Hollywood - this site is well worth a visit.

You have to admire these guys’ courage…
In late summer 2001, I decided to watch every zombie movie ever made. Naively, I believed this must be an easy task. After all, how many movies could the living dead appear in? As I write this, almost three years later, the accumulation of potential zombie movies stands at over 2000 with many more to be obtained in the future.
The creators of The Zombie Movie Database want to provide a website that will attempt to accumulate every appearance by zombies (whatever form they may take) in films from around the globe. This website will contain movies where zombies dominated the entire picture to films where the living dead only appear for a few minutes. In some entries, such as those concerning the Chinese hopping zombie/vampire, the staff of ZMDB will comment on the unique forms that zombies take in various countries and give the reasons for these inclusions.
What is pretty nice about this site is that, like the IMDb, it’s an open database. So that if you know of a film that they don’t already have you can add it.

Inside Report is the first production from the 5 Heads Tall team which aims to showcase the talent and creativity of all forms of indie film making. It is broadcast exclusively over the internet from this site roughly every three months.
The show is made up of interviews, features, trailers, showcases and advice from individuals from all over the independent film scene, and all over the world.
I’ve just watched the September 2004 edition and I have to say, it’s an excellent production and well worth seeing.
