Charlie Hebdo, the French satirical weekly that published the full set of Muhammed cartoons way back in February has seen off a charge of “inciting racial hatred” brought by the Federation des Associations Islamiques D’Afrique, Des Comore et Des Antilles (FFAIACA). The judge ruled the case inadmissable – presumably because Islam is a religion and not a race.
Although this sets an encouraging precident, the magazine is not in the clear yet as they are still facing a legal action filed by the Mosque of Paris in July.
France is the only European country in which Motoons publishers have been subjected to court cases.

Actually, Jyllandsposten was brought to court for blasphemy, for which there is still a law in Denmark – although there have been no blasphemy convictions since 1938. The case was thrown out immediately. Curious part is, though, that most parties in the Danish Parliament want to keep it, or rather, not cross it out.
Did Jyllands Posten actually go to court? I thought the Crown Prosecutor decided not to institute criminal proceedings, although I may be misunderstanding the Danish legal system here.
I think you are right on this one. Seems I misunderstood the press at the time, confusion between prosecutor and judge.
