Hunger striking for special treatment
More on the Catholic Secular Forum who, having killed off Tickle My Funny Bone, are still demanding the banning of The Da Vinci Code.
“Catholic Secular Forum (CSF) activists will go on a fast unto death if the government fails to take action against anti-Christian movies,” CSF general secretary Joseph Dias told the BBC.
The group claims that the film is offensive because it hits “certain basic foundations of the religion.” If the CSF really do feel threatened by a blockbuster, they really do have one hell of a shaky set of beliefs.
Update
Ecumenical News International (via) reports that the Mumbai Catholic Council has threatened to stop the screening of the film if the government fails to ban it, and one Roman Catholic has offered a bounty of US$25 000 on the head of author Dan Brown.

this is indeed a mad world. If the CSF guys are offended by the daVinci code, why don’t they just stay home and watch a rerun of Daddy knows best…. or is there a law in India that forces them to watch the movie? With the doctors on strike, maybe the shrinks are on strike too and J Dias can’t get any professional help. That would explain it.
