Pulp film noir inspired movie, No Right Turn to be released in Europe, April 14th, 2010

European DVD After a successful launch in the USA and Canada, No Right Turn (review, trailer) finally returns home and with a much anticipated Region 2 DVD release in Europe.

Working with ground breaking distribution company Another World Entertainment, the movie will street on April 14, 2010.

Women’s Studies Finally on it’s Way to Audiences

Women's Studies Personifying the phrase “never give up”, Ningen Manga Productions have finally signed a distribution deal for their first film, Women’s Studies (review, trailer). The film will be distributed by R-Squared Films who launched their first titles last year with a focus on new media, VOD, pay-per-download, and broadcast as well as traditional DVD release.

Not only do they have a new distributor, it’s also a new version of the film. The cut that R-Squared will be releasing on June 15th, 2010 is streamlined: 10 minutes shorter than the initial cut of Women’s Studies, though footage and scenes have been added back in. Additionally, a voice over by the character of Mary, runs throughout the film, telling the story in a different perspective.

Vampire fans bring about early film release

Cult DVD label The Weird World of Wibbell has bowed to the demands of thousands of vampire fans, making their new comedy horror film The Vampires of Bloody Island available to fans several weeks in advance of the DVD’s official release.

The low-budget independent British vampire comedy has been steadily building a network of over five thousand fans, eagerly following the adventures and missadventures of the films writers & stars, husband and wife team Allin Kempthorne and Pamela Kempthorne, in their very personal fortnightly newsletters.

The official release date for The Vampires of Bloody Island was set for January 25th in the UK & Europe, and February the 1st in Canada & the USA. However, following recent newsletters in which Allin and Pamela described having the first shipment of 2000 DVDs manufactured and delivered, the response from readers became even more overwhelming. The upshot of this is that the DVD is now available to fans in the UK and Europe through the Wibbell website. The NTSC DVD will be available on February 1st.

The Vampires of Bloody Island is a comedy horror story which harks back to the style and nostalgia of the British Hammer vampire movies of the 1970’s. Filled to it’s rotting rafters with creepy comical characters and plenty of exploding vampires, it’s a laugh-packed send up of every vampire film you’ve ever loved.

The Scream Magazine calls it “A real cult classic”, Dark Nights Magazine calls it “Genuinely hilarious and tremendous fun” while British Film magazine says the film is “set to tantalise fans of horror and comedy alike.”

Wibbell announces December release for horror comedy, The Vampires of Bloody Island

The Vampires of Bloody Island New DVD label The Weird World of Wibbell today announced that the long awaited DVD release of it’s British comedy-horror film The Vampires of Bloody Island is expected before Christmas in the UK, USA, Canada and Ireland. Livestock to hit DVD in November

Livestock DVD Christopher Di Nunzio’s Livestock (review, trailer) has been picked up for DVD release by R Squared films. The film is listed under the horror category by plays more as a bizarre drama and has the pacing of a Hammer horror film.

A mysterious cult has decided to take a new direction in giving Victor, a hard working trusted member, a promotion. However, his cruel minded disciples have decided to take action of their own. Growing tired of their monotonous plans, they begin to take their malevolent acts one step further. In a world seemingly far removed from Victor’s, two young girls, Annabel and Tina, are trying to make changes in their own lives. Annabel prepares for a second date with Jerry, a man she met online, while Tina keeps focused on an important meeting that is sure to open up new doors in her life. Soon these two worlds collide as Annabel and Tina find themselves deep within the belly of the beast, and the long, dark history of a secret organization is revealed.

Also included on the DVD is a bonus short film, Last Bet, Last Mistake.

A lone gunman parked outside a apartment complex is waiting for the right moment. Inside, his target is clueless to the fate that awaits him. The two men started out in the same crime operation, but now business, and jealousy have ended old ties. The tension builds until there is no way out for either of them.

No Right Turn to be released in US and Canada

No Right Turn USA DVD artwork California based Lono Entertainment are to distribute independent noir fantasy No Right Turn (review, trailer) and have announced a DVD release date of 1st December 2009.

The packed DVD package is practically a film school in a box and is packed with extras, including: Director’s commentary; Composer & Director sessions; Making of Documentary, “Twist & Turns”; CPH:PIX film festival Q&A; Auditions; Rehearsels & Scene Analysis; Deleted scenes; Trailers; Slide show; Teasers; Bloopers; and much, much more.

This 91 minute, English language film is a stylish and beautifully photographed mix of Fantasy, Pulp and Film Noir genres and was an official selection at the film festival CPH:PIX 2009.

Spirits of the Fall now out on DVD

Spirits of the Fall Russ Diaper’s Spirits of the Fall (review trailer) is now available on DVD.

The film is a dark psychological horror/chiller that follows Chris, a man who is mourning the death of his pregnant wife. After a year away from the hotel they both used to run, he returns, not sure of how he would feel, after all, it was in hotel that she was murdered by a psychotic guest on Halloween night, a year ago. Desperate to try and come to terms with his loss, he begins to have terrifying nightmares and bizarre disturbing visions and begins to wonder…is he alone in the house? or is something else living with him. Soon Chris will realise that he must deal with the spirits that torment him….the ghosts that won’t rest.
