Dee Wallace jumps into The Ocean

Dee Wallace Fangoria is reporting that genre veteran Dee Wallace has signed on to star in Dante Tomaselli’s upcoming horror film The Ocean, which I’ve already mentioned a few times before.

Wallace, whose credits include The Hills Have Eyes, The Howling, Cujo and The Frighteners, will play Castelli, a psychic who receives frightening visions regarding her estranged daughter Maria, who lives in Puerto Rico.

Cathy travels to Maria’s beachfront home, and in the midst of the troubled family reunion, Cathy receives more signs of an encroaching evil arising from the depths of the ocean around them.

“I’m the happiest director in the world!” Tomaselli raves to Fango about the casting. “Dee has been directed by Wes Craven, Peter Jackson, Joe Dante…and Steven Spielberg. She has starred in so many bona fide classics, it really sets the bar for me. This whole business of moviemaking runs on pure passion, and I feel so inspired—so hungry to make the best film possible with The Ocean.

Shooting for the Tomaselli’s most ambitious film to date is scheduled to start in early August in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico.
