The all new StagKnight website has gone live today with a completely new design, much more stuff and a competition.
The winner of worryingly addictive StagKnight game, Staggy 2, is going to win a dinner date with leading lady Jocelyn Osorio in London and get world premier private screening of the film with the director Simon Cathcart. Not a bad result for slaying some scouts.

Coming Soon (via) reports that Simon Pegg is to play Toby Young in the movie adaptation of his bestselling book How to Lose Friends and Alienate People, in which he detailed his disastrous stint as a contributing editor for Vanity Fair in New York.
Variety says Young is merciless about his own hapless attempts to ingratiate himself with celebrities and impress supermodels. But he is equally scathing about the ego and grandeur of his boss, editor-in-chief Graydon Carter Carter, and the self-importance of the entire Vanity Fair machine.
Robert Weide hs been signed up to direct the film, which is being scripted by Peter Straughan. Shooting is scheduled to start next spring.

I’ve already said that I think DOA: Dead or Alive may be the exception to the rule that video game adaptations are rubbish. In this case, it looks like the people behind the film are treating treating the film with all the respect it deserves and have come up with a hopefully entertaining self-parody.
So, it is with much gratitude to Filmstalker, that I point you in the direction of this clip of Holly Valance fighting three guys while she puts her bra on.

Christopher Nolan is to direct a big screen adaptation of the classic 1960s TV serires, The Prisoner.
Universal Pictures will begin work with the British filmmaker once he has completed filming on The Dark Knight, his Batman Begins follow-up, next year.
It’s not ofen that I get excited about film adaptations of old TV series, but The Prisoner in Christopher Nolan’s hands could be something very good indeed.

I Spit on Your Movie (via) has come across some more posters for Guillermo del Toro’s upcoming Pan’s Labrynth.
It’s nice to see a couple of the characters (monsters) brought to the fore, but I have to admit that I preferred the earlier poster.

The first footage for James Isaac’s take on ethe werewolf genre, Skinwalkers has gone online (via) and it looks rather good.
Granted, there’s a bit of cheese in there, but overall the clip left me wanting to know a lot more.
The film is an action/horror flick about a 12-year-old boy who suddenly finds himself at the center of a battle between two warring groups of werewolves. One group of werewolves is sworn to protect him, the other group is trying to kill him — and the young boy’s mother has to find out why her son is at the center of the conflict before time runs out.

This is interesting. According to Twitch, Neil Gaiman and Penn Jilette are currently working together on a film script.
Very little has been revealed about the content so far, and for that you’ll need to dig through Gaiman’s blog. But I’m excited already.

After passing through several Studios that really should have known better, Guillermo del Toro’s sequel to Hellboy, Hellboy 2: The Golden Army has finally come to rest at Universal.
Ron Perlman, Selma Blair and Doug Jones are all set to return to the film in which Hellboy “must save the world from the creatures of the nether-world, who have started a rebellion against humanity in order to rule the Earth.”
No news as to where this fits into del Toro’s very busy schedule so far.
