One social network to rule them all…

Being a bit of a social networking tart, I have signed up to far too many of these things, many of which I never return to. So Mugshot looks a bit handy in that it allows you to bring many of these disparate activies together on a single page. So I signed up.

Visit my Mugshot page

And once they sort out a Flixster feed, I’ll be well happy.

Happy Squidmas

Happy Squidmas

That’s me done for another year and I shall be spending the next couple of weeks over-indulging and absolutely not blogging at all. So here’s wishing all the best for the festive season and see you in 2008.

In the meantime, here’s a seasonal video for you to enjoy and a carol to sing along to.

The blog year in review

I’m a sucker for internet memes, and I picked this one up from Adventures in Ethics and Science. All you have to do is go back through your blog and post the first sentance from the first post for each month.

  • January: For the first time ever I have watched a clip from Channel 4’s Celebrity Big Brother.
  • February: Aardman Animation and Dreamworks have parted company three films into a five film deal.
  • March: This sounds fantastic.
  • April: This is interesting.
  • May: It’s nostalgic ads like this one (which I found over at ImpossibleFunky) that almost make me want to go and buy a car.
  • June: Twitch is highlighting some rather bad behaviour on the part of Midway Games in their dealings with the New York Asian Film Festival (NYAFF).
  • July: As you may or may not have noticed, I have been away from my PC for the past ten days taking a well-earned break in sunny France.
  • August: Back in 1996, Lenny Henry contacted Neil Gaiman and asked him if he wanted to write a contemporary television fantasy series.
  • September: Nick Nunziata on the news that Danny Boyle is to make another film about a kid who lands a windfall.
  • October: You have to hand it to Uwe Boll.
  • November: P2 is a seasonal horror film - due to hit US cinemas next week.
  • December: As noted by the National Secular Society, the Jesus Camp documentary, which follows a group of young children to Pastor Beck Fischer’s “Kids on Fire Summer Camp” where kids are taught to become dedicated Christian soldiers in God’s army, is now on limited release in the UK.

If you head on over you can get an icon of your own which will appear not just on this site but on any Gravatar enabled blog.

F.A.B.

I’m a total commercial sellout, me

Still from Little Shop of Horrors After a fair bit of tinkering, I have now incorporated an Amazon aStore on this site.

It probably needs a bit of tuning, but give it a go and let me know what you think.

Focus: Part 2

Amsterdam Fantastic Film Festival 2003 logo A couple of weeks ago I mentioned that I wanted to refocus this blog more towards talking about films, partly so that it fitted better with the rest of the site but also to free up some time for myself. I also implied that I was looking for another name for the blog.

After playing around with variations on a theme of “Maverick Movies…” (thanks Lisa) and a range of names that all sounded far too much like I Spit On Your Movie, I’ve finally come up with something that I’m happy with and which doesn’t sound blatantly unoriginal.

So welcome to Savage Popcorn.

Focus

This has turned into rather a long and possibly rambling post about the future direction of the Pulpmovies blog. Read on at your peril. Continue Reading »

Revamp

Just a quick word or warning to let you know that I am making a few tweaks to the layout of the site. If things start to look a bit screwy, please do not adjust your browser.

Normal service will be resumed as soon as we establish what we mean by normal.

Update

And it’s done. All rather painless, all things considered.

Housekeeping

I don’t visit every blog on my blogroll every day and some blogs I visit more often than others. And there are some blogs on there that haven’t been updated for a very long time indeed. Or there were.

So farewell to
