Wannabe martyrs
When Cristina Odone was told that she couldn’t do one of her little rants at St Martin’s church (capacity: small), she had a long whinge in the Guardian (curculation: large; online readership: massive) about how she was being censored. Then dopey Tory, Mark Pritchard MP, decided to jump on the martyrdom bandwagon by calling a Westminster debate on “Christianophobia.”
The determination of religious types to whip themselves into a mock frenzy of affronted martyrdom at the slightest perceived slight never ceases to amaze me. But I was amused by James Graham’s plan to give them a helping hand.
Go sign it.
