Someone forgot to read the pitch
This is just too good. One of the films scheduled to be released in early 2008 is Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, which is being directed by Tim Burton and stars Johnny Depp in the title role. CHUD has picked up a story that, having seen some of the footage that Burton has shot, the execs at Warner Bros are feeling a little squeamish.
Apparently they’re upset about the amount of blood in some of the scenes where Todd dispatches his victims with a razor slice to the throat. Also upsetting the WB tie-wearers is a scene where a 10 year old boy feeds corpses into a meat grinder so they can be made into pies.
But what were they expecting in a film about Sweeney Todd?
