Savage Popcorn

Armando Ianucci is undoubtably one of the most important figures in British comedy today. Although you don’t see him in front of the camera that often, he has worked as a writer, producer, or both on some of the most inventivle and flat out comedy coming out of the UK today. Think Alan Partridge, The Day Today and The Thick of It, Ianucci is lurking behind all of them.

But when he does get in front of the camera, the results can be brilliant. Take this clip from the 1997 Election Night Armistice, for example.
