Channel 4 in merger talks with Five

Channel 4 and channel Five are said to be discussing a merger, a move which would dramatically alter the British television industry.

Whenever expatriates start talking, one of the topics of conversation that invariably crops up is “what do you miss from home?”

One of the things I always mention is Channel 4 which, at it’s best, is innovative, original and well worth watching.

I sincerely hope that any merger will not result in Channel 4 trying to emulate the pointlessly bland programming of Channel Five.
