How Do You Write A Joe Schermann Song is the upcoming film from writer/director, Gary King. The film is a musical but, according to the director, will not be your typical “song and dance” affair. The aim is to tell a much more intimate tale about an aspiring Broadway songwriter who jeopardizes his relationships and budding career after he begins working with a talented singer.

Joe and his girlfriend Evey dream of hitting it big on Broadway. When Joe lands an opportunity to write for an Off-Broadway musical, he is forced to cast either the love of his life or Summer, his newly discovered muse. The realities of show business prove to Joe that writing is easy, living is hard.

With his earlier film, New York Lately, Gary King demonstrated a very real talent for not only creating characters that are both well-rounded and engaging but also for bringing them to life very believably. It will be very interesting, therefore, to see what he does with a musical.
