Aidan 5: A strikingly good looking science fiction web series
After GenCon, earlier this month, there is another science fiction series on the web to join the upcoming Mercury Men. Set in a futuristic city, Aiden 5 follows a detective investigating the serial murder of his clones. They have a trailer up and the first episode is online already.
I have to say that it does look very striking indeed. The series has a very strong comic book aesthetic, being a very effective blend of live action acting against sketched backgrounds, Comparisons with Sin City are probably going to be inevitable, but Aiden 5 is a very different beast to Robert Rodriguez’ blockbuster, and one that works very well on its own terms.
It would be nice if Room 101 productions, the people behind the series, would add an RSS feed to make it easier for people as disorganised as I am to keep up with the episodes, but it is a series that is well worth checking out.
