Olga Kurylenko is the next Bond girl
Although Gemma Arterton will be in the next Bond film (currently known, rather imaginatively, as Bond 22), she won’t be playing the Bond Girl. That task falls to Ukrainian model-turned-actor Olga Kurylenko who was most recently seen in Xavier Gens’ video game adaptation Hitman.
Kurylenko will portray a character named Camille in the 22nd movie in the franchise, producers said. Filming on the as-yet-untitled movie is already under way in London. It is due to be released in November. In line with recent Bond films, producers promise that the next Bond girl will be more than just eye candy. This time, she will, apparently, help 007 “come to terms with the emotional consequences of Vesper’s betrayal”. This refers to Casino Royale’s lead femme fatale, Vesper Lynd, who was portrayed by Eva Green.
Mathieu Amalric, who starred in The Diving Bell and the Butterfly will play Bond’s nemesis, Dominic Green, a member of the mysterious and evil organisation introduced in Casino Royale.
