Wes Craven Waiting for Alexandre Aja
Sci Fi Wire (via) reports that Wes Craven was so impressed with Alexandre Aja (the man behind Haute Tension) while remaking The Hills Have Eyes that they are to team up again. This time for a ghost story.
“We looked at a lot of different scripts, and we wanted to do this one. The Waiting is a supernatural thriller about a couple who relocates after they lose their child tragically, and the wife is having a hard time with it,” Craven explained. “They find a perfect house, a nice place in the suburbs, and they begin realizing that it is haunted by the ghost of their child. It is very, very creepy and heart-rending.”
I thought Haute Tension was a great film – the sort of film that’s engrossing enough that you don’t notice the plot holes until after it’s over – and, from the trailer, it looks like The Hills Have Eyes may be one of the better remakes to have been inflicted on us in recent years. So when Craven and Aja get started on The Waiting, we could be in for a treat.
